What We Do
We are a faith-based 501c3 organization specializing in equipping and mobilizing people and resources around the world to provide culture affirming churches (pioneer church planting) and holistic care (humanitarian aid and self-sufficiency) in the Horn of Africa region and beyond. Through partners like you, we are able to accomplish this together by empowering nationals to reach into their communities and effect long-lasting, sustainable change.
We also work directly with national partners, and sometimes with magistrates and parliament, to alleviate extreme poverty through free medical care, critical construction projects, community health development, child sponsorships for children affected by HIV/AIDS and women’s empowerment initiatives in some of the most difficult regions in the Horn of Africa and around the world.
How We Do It
Pioneer Church Planting
Our ministry focuses on providing culture affirming churches among unreached and unengaged people groups in the Horn of Africa and beyond. Two thousand years after Jesus gave the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, there are still many people groups around the world who have not heard the good news and have no hope for a better life. The region of the Horn of Africa is home to a many of these unreached people groups. Fortunately, we’ve engaged most of these groups and are witnessing a great harvest.
Have you ever been to church under a tree?
We work with many denominations and mission agencies who share our Faith Statement and Vision. We have more than 200 partners who labor with us. In addition to planting churches, we invest our resources in mobilizing the body of Christ for the sake of reaching the unreached and unengaged. A significant portion of our budget is spent on training and preparing future leaders. We are seeking to build a training and equipping center in Ethiopia much like the one in Kenya.
Following Ephesians 4:12, we equip the saints for the work of service and the building up of the body of Christ. We do this through our training and equipping centers, through Bible study, leadership initiatives, and conferences where we teach CPM (Church Planting Movements), DBS (Discovery Bible Study), and STS (Simply the Story), our Bible story telling tool for the non-literate. We also provide security training and many other relevant tools.
We work in the most difficult region in the world where persecution is a daily reality. Our missionaries face many difficult situations on a regular basis. Our regional office in Ethiopia works with more than 200 of our church planters to provide physical and spiritual help as needed.
We are always ready to train and send a short-term team! Opportunities for ministry and cross-cultural experiences abound! Go to our Get Involved page to find out more!
